asa Magazzini is built into the section of the bastions constructed by the Knights of Malta.It is situated in Magazzini Street on the Westside of Mdina alongside other warehouses that were designed to store the
		Knights' war machinery - cannon, gunpowder and other ammunition. This section of Mdina was of great importance to the work of the Knights on the island, which consisted mainly of protecting it from Turkish invaders as well as providing health care in what was probably the most modern hospital in Europe at the time, La Sacra Infermeria. The painstaking task of restoring Casa Magazzini took years to complete in order to expose the
	interior structure just as the knights had left it, possibly more time than it took to build initially. The tableaux and scenarios for the Knights of Malta in Mdina attraction were installed in a way that does not affect the structure or stonework of the original building in any way. In effect, the project has helped to enhance a part of Malta's heritage which would otherwise have remained neglected. This was the second project of its type that had been undertaken by the directors of Mdina Bastions Ltd.
	The first was a house in Mesquita Square, which is home to the Mdina Experience. Nevertheless, the Museums department and other professionals in this field were consulted and monitored the restoration program.
